Our Chapter assists with staffing for Small Business Planning workshops.

The workshops are given in conjunction with Muskegon Community College and White Lake Comunity Education.

 

HERE IS INFORMATION ON THE NEXT SET OF WORKSHOPS:

#1:Small Business Certificate Program

Course Summary
This five-week certificate program focuses on how to start a small business.  Topics include legal aspects of the business, protecting your idea, business structures, people issues, financial statements, break even analysis, and the importance of developing a business plan.

 The program uses a text How to Really Start Your Own Business, developed by Inc. magazine, VISA and SCORE.  This program offers a step-by-step process in evaluating and starting your business.  It includes tips on obtaining financing, identifying and analyzing your market, developing a marketing plan, franchising and highlighting local resources available to the entrepreneur.

 Presenters include Muskegon SCORE members, local attorney, top commercial loan executive, and other small business resources.

 If you attend all five sessions you will  successfully complete the program and receive a certificate.

#2:  Small Business Planning 101
 

Given in conjunction with White Lake Community ED.


Learn if you have what it takes to start and run your own small business. Discover why preparing a Business Plan is so important, and why most entrepreneurs do not succeed. Find out which financial statements are critical for you to understand. This seminar will leave you with a good understanding of what you must do to be successful starting a small business, and will give you invaluable mentoring contacts for the future. This class is presented by SCORE Counselors.
